Near my study I have built my workshop, where the time stops and creativity gets the upper hand. Only when I am fully satisfied with the result, the objects I create : the pipe, the knife or the pen, leave the workshop to enter the show-cases of my study, to be shown to my friends collectors who come to see me and who are more and more numerous. I research and select with particular care the most rare and precious woods, coming from the whole world, which afterwards are seasoned in a natural way for a long time. At a distance of years, I am still able to be surprised of the beauty, the intensity and the variety of the colours and the shapes created by the nature. From the very beginning of my activity I decided that my production had to be valuable and therefore limited. All the pens, pipes and knives are only copies extant, completely handmade. Through the exclusive design and the attention to the technical detail of the processing, these small objects become small works of art, perfectly practical for the purpose they have been created. In the everyday life they have to offer pleasant sensations, only thus we could say that they have reached “the perfection”. And when the time, inevitably, will leave its signs, giving authoritativeness, then it will become our PIPE, our PEN, our KNIFE.

THE PIPES
The study of the shapes following the Italian style characterizes my pipe maker job. The briar blocks of very first quality are Italian, they come from Tuscany and always from the same reliable supplier who takes care of the choice and the processing of the blocks. Each year I am pleased to meet the friend supplier in the sawmill, I select personally the briar blocks which will be seasoned at least for a couple of years in my workshop before becoming pipes. When the perfection of the shape meets the beauty of the natural vein, the GHIBLY pipe reaches the “COLLECTION” status, particularly researched by the most skilled pipe smokers. I make only occasionally particular pipes marked by “SPECIAL EDITION” and they are obviously special pipes.

THE PENS
GIHBLI production includes fountain pens, ballpoint pens and pencil holders. I sometimes make them in a classic style, even if I personally prefer experiment with new shapes which are exclusive and unrepeatable. A lot of small processing secrets are guarded in the workshop for the production of the most original pens, so beautiful to be seen and so complicated to be created. By request it is possible to insert a 18K golden nib on the fountain pen. The small sculptures, real works of modern art, are worth of mentioning. I create them with the most precious woods and I study them purposely to be the ideal support for the pens.

THE KNIVES
Each knife originates from its own drawing engraved from the very beginning on the steel bar, which is afterwards hand cut, following the drawn lines. The harmony between the blade and the handle guarantees the balance and the safety of the knife during its use. The experience suggest the right choice of the steel bar to create each single blade. They are only copies extant, often made precious by handles in coral, mother-of-pearl, hartshorn and mammoth fossil ivory. I alternate my production between jack and fixed blade knives, according to the spur of the moment, creating so ever original models.
